DRI → EAF → LF → CC
The emerging low-carbon route — iron ore is directly reduced to DRI or HBI using natural gas or hydrogen, then charged to an EAF for steelmaking. With green hydrogen, this route approaches near-zero CO₂. The basis of projects including HYBRIT, H2 Green Steel, and ArcelorMittal XCarb.
