Thailand has 12 steel plants tracked in the Global Iron and Steel Tracker, with a combined crude steel capacity of about 11.8 million tonnes per year. 10 of them are electric arc furnace plants melting recycled scrap. The largest is Meranti Steel Map Ta Phut, at about 2.5 million tonnes per year.
